  5. consider cheaper alternatives to its $400 billion plan for a
  6. manned mission to Mars. Engineers at the Livermore Laboratory
  7. in California say stations on the moon, and later on Mars,
  8. could be built out of inflatable plastic balloons for only $10
  9. billion. The idea could be punctured by a big drawback: a
  10. 1-in-10 chance that the balloons could burst.
